THE THREE SCRIPTURES

In this section, you will be able to visit an introduction to the Holy Scriptures of each of the three Abrahamaic faiths:

An early manuscript of the New Testament written in Greek
  • The 'Torah' or Hebrew Bible, which is roughly analogous with the Christian Old Testament. It includes the Pentateuch or 'Five Books of Moses', the Books of the Prophets and the Writings

  • The Christian 'New Testament', which encompasses the four Gospels of the Church canon as well as the Book of 'Acts of the Apostles', the Letters of Paul, the Book of Revelation and various other apostolic writings.

  • The Holy Qur'an, which contains 114 chapters or 'Surahs' that were revealed to Muhammad, the leading Prophet of Islam

Each introduction provides a brief overview of the history and the scope of the scripture, and provides a web link to a complete translation of the text in English.

Be sure to visit 'Things We Have in Common,' which provides a comparison of the key tenets of each faith and emphasizes those elements that we all appear to have in common.

For additional reference, we have also provided links to helpful websites that shed further light on Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
