Joseph lives and works in New York City. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and
raised in the Westchester suburb of New Rochelle. Joseph was raised in an
observant Jewish home and spent his elementary and high school years in
Orthodox Jewish schools.
Following high school, he went to study Hebrew and Judaism in a Yeshiva within
the walls of the Old City in Jerusalem, Israel. It was there that he fostered
his love and interest for religious study. Upon returning to New York, he
enrolled in Hunter College at the City University of New York, majoring in
Comparative Religion.
While studying at Hunter, Joseph interned at such organizations as The Simon
Wiesenthal Center and The American Jewish Committee's department for
interreligious affairs. At the Committee Joseph co-wrote a Passover Haggadah to
be used at interfaith Passover Seders. Upon graduating Hunter he was accepted
to the New York City Teaching Fellowship.
Joseph currently teaches Social Studies in an elementary school in East Harlem
and is working towards a Masters in Elementary Education. Joseph hopes to
eventually work within the international arena of conflict resolution.
