In the 2-hour film, twelve students from all walks of life -- Jews, Christians,
and Muslims -- are brought together for a single mission: to find people of
tolerance. The question is simple: in a world beset by violence along the fault
lines of faith, is it possible to find men and women who believe in dialog and
reconciliation?
It is this question that the students, divided into three teams, set out to
answer. Team USA traveled from the heartland of America to the West Coast. Team
Mediterranean went to Morocco, and on to Spain. And Team Middle East traveled
to Egypt and Israel.
For six weeks, two camera teams followed wherever they went, from a university
campus in Tulsa, OK to the kashbah of Fez, Morocco; from the whitewashed walls
of Spanish Andalusia to the battered ruins of the West Bank.
The result is a revealing and deeply moving portrait of a polarized world, in
which people of every faith and background struggle to build a peaceful future
for themselves and their children.
"What we discovered," says Daniel in the closing Act of the film, "is that the
road to peace begins not at the conference table, but with people reaching out
to people. Everyday men and women, setting aside their pain, their prejudice
and their past, and taking a chance -- by opening their hearts.
And we discovered that we can make a difference -- simply by caring, and
embracing tolerance in our own world, one day at a time."
